Consumer survey underlines the use of social media to connect users with products and brands

  • A survey by Sprout Social has found that social media helps over half of consumers (55%) learn about companies and brands, whilst 78% found that positive experiences with brands on social media platforms made them more likely to purchase with that company.
  • The statistics shown in the Harris Poll show that especially amongst the younger generations, social media is the main place people go to learn about products and services, further emphasising how important it is for business to have an active social media presence.
  • This also shows in how many people looked more often then previously to social media to discover new products last year. 43% of consumers increased their use of social media platforms, with 42% learning about products and 36% purchasing services and items.
